FAQs

FAQs

Q. How long does it take to see results from the Blue Leaf Success Plan?
A. The Blue Leaf Success Plan is a long-range focused program. Clients consider the program to be an ongoing part of their business lives. The first few months focus on strategies and goals as we create an action plan for success. The first year creates the foundation for an improved team and work environment. Each group progresses at a different pace. It takes about 2 years to make major transformations in store culture, team work habits, skills, and relationships that allow your team to create dramatic break through results. After the first year business owners usually have a greatly expanded vision of future possibilities. After the first year we continue to ensure your investment in the foundation remains strong enough to support new growth and to fund the realization of new goals.

Q. What happens in the workshop sessions?
A. The workshop day consists of a combination of instructor presentation, focused exercises, planning, creative thinking, and sharing with other participants. It is an interactive experience with opportunities for individual work and both large and small group discussions. The workshops are scheduled based on progress through group “checkpoints”. Each day runs from 9-5 with frequent breaks. The sessions are conducted using a multi-media approach that combines video and audio presentations with Power Point. Each class participant receives a workbook and other supporting materials that will help enhance retention. Sessions range from 1 to 2 days per participant. Class sizes vary per workshop topic.

Q. What other resources are available to support my team between the workshop sessions?
A. Between workshops, you will have access to a Program Coach who is an expert at helping business owners and sales managers implement the tools and concepts of the program. Your Program Coach is available by phone and E-mail to ensure that you maximize the return on your investment in the program and to help you brainstorm special challenges. Blue Leaf will also offer books, audio and video presentations, and on-line training that reinforces important concepts and tools from the program.

Q. What is the Sales Success Plan you reference?
A. The Sales Success Plan is a complete selling strategy that includes training your team as one component of the plan. The Plan offers everyone in the organization an opportunity to get on the same page together by embracing some basic cultural philosophies. These also include some principle-driven concepts that help develop a more energized and dynamic work environment. The key to The Plan is having a coach in place with the right skills to help the people reach their full potential and take advantage of each customer opportunity. As skill levels increase and the work environment changes, customer sense and feel something special. This helps distinguish your store from your competitors giving you a unique advantage through your people. The Plan also recommends a layered system of accountability with "checkpoints" that help business owners know when their team is making progress and when additional skills training is needed.

Q. How does the Sales Success Plan differ from the Total Success Plan you mention?
A. Actually, the Sales Success Plan is one component of a Total Success Plan. The Total Success Plan is an alignment of all other components of a business. Success is easier to achieve when a business has a written plan or vision for the future that can be communicated to employees and standards of how services are offered to customers based on principle-driven philosophies. Other components of the store's image such as marketing, advertising, the logo, building interior and exterior, signs and tags, merchandising, and visual displays all reflect a unified look that inspires customers to identify with  your store as "their brand." When a store's advertising approach differs from it's selling strategy or does not reflect the merchandising concept, then it is said to be out of alignment.

Blue Leaf Consulting works with businesses on various categories of a Total Success Plan. Some businesses have components of a total plan already in place and may only need to work on one or two key areas. The Case Study on the Store Design page illustrates an example of a total store makeover, or Total Success Plan.
